# OpenVisa > OpenVisa helps couples prepare a Canadian spousal sponsorship application themselves. The sponsor and the sponsored partner (principal applicant) each answer their own part of an online questionnaire, in their own language, and OpenVisa turns the answers into the official IRCC forms. It is free to use. OpenVisa is an independent form preparation tool, not affiliated with IRCC, and it does not submit applications. ## What it does - Sponsor and applicant answer side by side. Invite your partner; each of you fills in your own part, on your own phone or computer. - Answer in your own language. Write a few words your way and OpenVisa writes an English answer that fits the form's box. You choose whether to use it. - A plain-language guide on every question: what IRCC is asking, how to answer, an example, and what to keep consistent with the rest of the application. - AI scanner: upload documents you already have (a past immigration application, a resume, a record of your trips, a passport). It suggests answers for the questionnaire, and you choose which ones to add. - Live preview of each IMM form while you answer. - No Adobe Reader needed. IRCC's PDF forms only open in Adobe Reader on a computer; OpenVisa works in the browser, including on phones. ## Forms it prepares - IMM 1344 (Application to sponsor, sponsorship agreement and undertaking) and IMM 5532 (Relationship information and sponsorship evaluation), as PDFs you upload. - IMM 0008 (Generic application form), IMM 5406 (Additional family information), IMM 5562 (Supplementary information: your travels) and IMM 5669 (Schedule A: background / declaration), which are filled in IRCC's PR Portal; OpenVisa's Chrome extension copies your answers into the portal on a desktop computer. ## Languages English, French, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, Arabic, Persian (Farsi), Ukrainian, Russian and Polish. The finished forms are in English. ## Price Free to prepare: the questionnaire, the guide and the form preview cost nothing. Downloading your finished forms is a one-time CA$499 per application, not a subscription. IRCC's government fees are paid to IRCC, not to OpenVisa. ## What OpenVisa is not OpenVisa is software, not a lawyer or a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC). It does not give legal advice or represent you before IRCC, and you submit your application yourself. ## Common questions - Do I need a consultant or lawyer? No. You can apply on your own. - Inland or outland? Both use the same forms; you choose on IMM 1344. Inland is for couples living together in Canada, and the applicant stays in Canada while it is processed. Outland works wherever the applicant lives, and a refusal can be appealed. - Can we fill it in at different times? Yes. Each of you answers your own part when it suits you. - Where are my answers saved? On your device. Create a free account to continue on another one. - Does OpenVisa submit my application? No. You submit on IRCC's portal. ## Links - [Home](https://openvisa.ca/): what OpenVisa does, how it works, pricing and questions - [Eligibility check](https://openvisa.ca/lp/family-sponsorship/check): a short check before you start - [Contact](https://openvisa.ca/contact) - [Privacy](https://openvisa.ca/privacy) - [Terms](https://openvisa.ca/terms) - [IRCC guide 5289: sponsor your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner](https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5289-sponsor-your-spouse-common-law-partner-conjugal-partner-dependent-child-complete-guide.html) Contact: hello@openvisa.ca
