IMM 5532: what "how did you meet" is actually asking
Three boxes, not a story. Dates that match your other forms.

IMM 5532 asks for your first in-person meeting as facts in boxes: a date, a place and a one-line occasion. Anything longer can go in a letter of explanation attached to the relationship evidence.
1. What are the pieces?
The Relationship Information and Sponsorship Evaluation form (IMM 5532) is completed by both of you and asks about the relationship in stages. For how you met, it separates:
- The date you first met in person. Meeting online, by phone or through family is a separate, later question. If you matched on an app in January and met in Seoul in May, the answer here is May.
- Where. City and country is enough.
- The occasion, in a sentence or two: a wedding, a class, work, a trip. Under a hundred characters is plenty.
2. What is the check that matters?
If you first met outside the applicant's country of residence, that meeting appears as a trip on IMM 5562 with the same dates, and the dates on the photos, tickets and messages you submit as evidence have to agree. In the threads we've read, a first-meeting date that disagrees with another form is a common reason for a request to clarify.
3. Where does the story go?
The form wants dates and places in its boxes, and short explanations where it asks for them. Anything longer can go in a letter of explanation attached to the relationship evidence. The kinds of evidence that go with it are on what proof of relationship counts.
4. How is it signed?
IMM 5532 is a PDF you sign and upload, like IMM 1344. Complete the form, then use "print to PDF" and sign the new file; signing the live form is why it comes back as "missing signature". It has four signatures: the sponsor signs in Part A and Part C, and the applicant signs in Part B and Part C. The steps are on why IMM 5532 comes back "missing signature".
5. On the form
The first-meeting date, place and occasion are separate answers on IMM 5532. OpenVisa shows a plain-language guide beside each question in 13 languages and a live preview of IMM 5532 as you answer; you enter each date once and it is used on every form that asks for it. It gives you IMM 5532 filled; print it to PDF and sign it the same way.
